Elwertätsch with Géri, Jan, and Eva; Bonus Resort skiing with Sara G!

I was super excited to get a few days time with my old flatmates. They had rented an apartment in Blatten in Lötschental for a week and were psyched to make the most of the incredibly warm weather. Eva, a good friend of Géri and Sara, hadn't been on a ski tour recently and wanted to make a comforable plunge back in to the sport. We took the Wiler lift up to Laucherenalp and Eva rented some equipment. At around 10:00 we set out traversing from the Hockenhorn over to the Elwertätsch. After sharing the summit with about 15 other people, we decided to traverse a bit more over to a small summit between the Elwertätsch and the Birghorn, where we had a beautiful lunch and the views all to ourselves. The ski back down was fantastic till about 1800m, where the snow got pretty soft (it was about 12:30 and 100C at that point). After a short break we joined Sara G for an afternoon of skiing the slopes at Laucherenalp - Géri was able to give me a few tips on my technique, which I tried without success to employ. Oh well! A beautiful, long day was capped with a declious meal (Gerstensuppe) back at the apartment in Blatten. Thanks folks!
